How Generative Music Works
This presentation by Tero Parviainen is a great look at the history and future of generative music, but it also has interactive examples of many of the generative systems it talks about.
I appreciate the look at generative music (and Tero’s earlier talk on a similar subject) but more than that I want to point out that this kind of interactive presentation is an ideal way to learn about these systems. Having the opportunity to see the generators in action and perhaps play with them is a powerful way to internalize what they are and how they work.
