Generating Fantasy Maps 

Martin O'Leary continues his explanation of Uncharted Atlas with a look behind the scenes of the map generation.

It’s inspired by Amit Patel’s polygonal map generation, but it’s got its own spin on what to do with the results. With interactive in-browser examples of how the algorithm works.

I hope to see future NaNoGenMo and ProcJam projects inspired by this in turn. The source code is available on GitHub, if you’d like to get an under-the-hood look at how it does its thing, but Martin’s explanations are pretty comprehensive even without that.
